calls for different skills.
We are interested in audiovisual translators, subtitle post-editors and verifiers with strong language skills, good cultural judgement, an understanding of audiovisual content and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in technology-driven localization workflows.
For traditional audiovisual translation, a strong understanding of both the source and target language and culture is essential.
For post-editing and verification, efficiency is particularly important. These workflows carry significantly lower rates per programme minute than translation from scratch because substantially higher throughput is expected.
As a real-life example, freelancers working at approximately half the traditional per-minute translation rate were able to process substantially more content through post-editing — increasing their daily earnings by around 100–150%.
This is why we see post-editing and verification as different workflows — not simply traditional translation at a lower rate.
